Background

Teleport reached product-market fit just as the COVID-19 pandemic began, triggering a surge in demand for live, online community experiences. As first-time founders, they struggled to attract the senior technical talent needed to stabilize and scale their platform under pressure.

The challenge
Teleport required an expert-level mobile team capable of supporting massive concurrent online community events, especially on iOS. They also needed to strengthen their infrastructure and development processes quickly to meet rapidly growing user demand. Key areas of focus included front-end development, third-party integrations, cloud infrastructure, and app stability at scale.

The solution
A Mission.dev team was assembled to fill immediate technical gaps, including a team lead, mobile and web technical leads, and senior engineers across the stack. The team worked alongside Teleport’s technical co-founder to deliver a scalable and stable app experience, using React, Node.js, ExpressJS, MySQL, OpenCV, and AWS (CloudFront, RDS, ECS, Fargate). Improvements to platform performance and mobile architecture helped Teleport continue fundraising and scale product usage with increased confidence.
