This month, we are excited to shine the spotlight on Ertiza, one of the key developers behind the Mission.dev platform.
Ertiza has been part of Mission.dev since 2022 and, as of this month, has logged more than 7,000 hours with us. Over that time, he has become a true champion of the platform team, contributing full-time to the product that powers how Mission.dev connects companies with exceptional technical talent.
An early curiosity for technology
For Ertiza, the path into software development started early. His father was a software engineer, and growing up, Ertiza was fascinated by what he saw at home: someone building, problem-solving, and working with technology from anywhere. It was a different kind of work life than what he saw around him, and it left a lasting impression.
He started using computers when he was just three or four years old, making slideshows for family and quickly becoming the person everyone turned to for computer help. By high school, his father had begun teaching him programming languages, including COBOL, and Ertiza started building Windows applications and websites. What began as curiosity quickly became a clear path forward.
Ertiza went on to study Computer Science at Government College University. During that time, he explored early AI concepts, including projects like a Tetris solver, but ultimately moved toward web development as the most practical path available to him at the time.
Learning how ideas become products
Ertiza’s early career gave him a strong foundation in product-building. At Devsinc, where he spent five years, he worked across companies, startups, and larger client projects, gaining a close-up view of how ideas become real products.
One standout experience was working on GoMoment, a product he helped build from scratch through to a successful acquisition. That experience shaped how he thinks about technology, product development, and the long-term potential of building something meaningful.
“It’s just the coolest thing to build something,”
For Ertiza, the motivation has always been rooted in solving problems, especially problems that exist around him in real life. One day, he hopes to bring one of his own product ideas to life.
Building the Mission.dev platform
When Ertiza joined Mission.dev in 2022, he was drawn to the idea of contributing to teams and products in a flexible, remote-first environment. He quickly became a strong fit for the Mission.dev platform team, contributing to the migration, user interface, and ongoing evolution of the product.
Since then, the platform has grown significantly, including the development of more AI-supported and data-backed capabilities. Ertiza has seen the product evolve with the needs of the market and the pace of technology, and he continues to enjoy the challenge that comes with building and improving it.
“Every day has a good challenge.”
Focusing on quality, impact, and problem-solving
One of the things Ertiza appreciates most about working on the Mission.dev platform is the engineering culture behind it. He values the team’s stable development cycle, strong processes, and focus on delivering quality without unnecessary stress. For him, that kind of environment creates the space to solve complex problems, help others, and deliver work with real impact.
Throughout his career, Ertiza has also been intentional about staying close to the work itself. While he has had opportunities to move into management, he has chosen to continue dedicating himself to software development. He enjoys helping others and contributing to the team, but his biggest motivation remains building, problem-solving, and delivering something that works well.
Life outside of work
Outside of work, Ertiza is a father of two and enjoys spending time with his family. They often visit parks, spend time with their extended family, and travel around the region, especially to the mountains. He is also a movie lover and enjoys finding time to unwind with a good film.
Recently, Ertiza and his family spent time in London while he explored a hybrid role there. The experience gave him a new perspective on what matters most in a work environment, especially after years of thriving in remote-first settings. The transition from remote work to a structured office schedule, combined with the challenge of settling into a new country, helped reinforce how important flexibility, alignment, and the right team culture are.
Celebrating 7,000 hours with Mission.dev
Today, Ertiza is back in Lahore and continuing to make a meaningful impact on the Mission.dev platform. With more than 7,000 hours logged, years of product-building experience, and a deep commitment to quality engineering, he has become an important part of the team behind the technology we use every day.
We are grateful to have Ertiza as part of the Mission.dev network and platform team, and excited to celebrate the work, curiosity, and dedication he brings to Mission.dev.
